Graduating soon? Branston wants you. They’ve just released their Graduate Development Programme and you could be the lucky one joining the team. Here’s the application below!

We’re always looking for bright people with bags of potential to join our team. If you’re getting close to graduating and you’re looking for a flexible way in to the fresh produce industry we could have a place for you.

Who are we?

Branston was originally formed as a farmers’ co-operative back in 1968 when a group of local potato growers decided to work together to get a better deal. We’ve grown and evolved since then to become one of the largest potato suppliers in the UK. We have sites in Lincoln, Scotland and the South West and we’re always on the lookout for new talent to join us.

What do we offer?

Our 18 month Graduate Development Programme is a series of three month placements around the business to give you a diverse range of experience. You could go anywhere from Field Services to Finance or IT to Sales & Marketing. (More experience looks great on your CV)

You’ll start off in Operations to get a really good understanding of what we do with all those spuds and how we get them to our customers. Then once you’ve found your feet there are opportunities to tailor some of the placements to suit your particular area of interest. We’re looking for graduates to be based at each of our sites and you’ll spend one of your placements at a different site to your ‘home’ one.

You’ll be assigned a peer mentor, who’s already been through the programme. They’ll be able to support and guide you as well as giving you the benefit of their experience.

Who are we looking for?

You don’t have to be an expert on potatoes – we can teach you all that. You’ll need a passion for working in the fresh produce industry and enthusiasm for learning new skills.

You’ll also need:

  • To be on track to gain at least a 2:1 degree
  • Flexibility, as things sometimes change due to business needs
  • Not to be afraid to get your hands (and sometimes boots!) dirty
  • A driving licence would be useful as there will be some travel involved.

Next steps?

Please send your CV and covering letter to graduate@branston.co.uk before Friday 22 January 2016. If you’re shortlisted you’ll be invited to an assessment centre and interview at our Lincoln site.
