The University of Lincoln, Holbeach Campus was nominated this year for Training Scheme of the Year at the Meat Management Awards held at The Royal Garden Hotel in London on 8th June  2011.

Jim Sutcliffe (Young Butcher of the Year 2009) from Meridian Meats in Louth was also nominated for Young Manager of the Year 2011.

The annual Meat Management Awards sets a benchmark for recognising excellence throughout the meat industry, and includes the prestigious Excellence Award recognising an individual’s contribution to the industry.

The Awards are supported by many of the major players in the meat industry and the Awards dinner is a highlight in the meat industry calendar, which attracted over 300 guests.

The University and Jim were runners up in their categories, but to have Lincolnshire recognised at such event will only serve to put us firmly on the map within the meat industry.
