Employees at Freshtime in Boston celebrated success at an awards ceremony on Tuesday 14th December, where Operations General Manager, Paul Faulkner, presented certificates to those who had been learning English and gained the City & Guilds 3792 Adult Literacy Entry level award.

Gaye Woodward, English language tutor at the University of Lincoln’s Holbeach Campus, taught the employees two hours a week for 20 weeks.  Gaye used materials from the factory where they work as well as practising the English they need for living in the community.  

The company encourages their employees to improve their communication skills, which helps them to integrate into the community. The award is a nationally recognised certificate. Safety and Training Co-ordinator, Graham Dayes, said: “This is an excellent achievement and demonstrates our employees’ personal commitment to learn English.”
